Course Description
- This web based training course addresses the needs of everybody who requires a detailed introduction to the Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS).
- The course starts with a consideration of the UMTS network architecture and the migration path from GSM / GPRS to UMTS. This part concludes with a presentation of the major differences between GSM and UMTS.
- The next part covers a thorough and detailed introduction into the CDMA and W-CDMA technologies. We cover all aspects of this fascinating radio transmission technology.
- The course concludes with a detailed consideration of various UTRA-specific issues like channel types, the way of data processing in UTRAN and UE (e.g. transport channel, scrambling, channel multiplexing, etc.).
As in all INACON web based training courses we integrated several interactive exercises for a perfect learning experience.
This web based training course comprises the first part of our web based “UMTS System Design Training” trilogy. The second part covers the physical layer and the protocol stack in more detail while the third part focuses on procedures and scenarios.
